Japan Machinery Orders Rise Unexpectedly for Second Month

Japan’s machinery orders unexpectedly rose for a second straight month in February.
Bookings, an indicator of capital spending, increased 4.8 percent from the previous month, the Cabinet Office said in Tokyo today. The median estimate of 28 economists surveyed by Bloomberg News was for a 0.8 percent decline.
