Standard & Poor’s 500 Index futures expiring in March fell less than 0.1 percent to 1,206.20.

Aetna Inc. (AET) : The third-largest U.S. health insurer raised its current year and 2012 earnings forecasts after a strong October and November, the company said.

BioSante Pharmaceuticals Inc. (BPAX) tumbled 78 percent to 47 cents. The developer of hormone-replacement products’s LibiGel, an experimental compound intended to boost women’s libido, failed to work in two large studies.

Antares Pharma Inc. (AIS) , which is developing the pharmaceutical delivery system for LibiGel, dropped 27 percent to $1.77.

Nordson Corp. (NDSN US) erased 5.3 percent to $42.16. The maker of adhesive equipment said first-quarter earnings excluding some items will be no more than 61 cents a share, below the average analyst estimate of 67 cents a share.
