(Kitco News) - Gold prices rallied by several dollars an ounce in late-afternoon trading Wednesday, after U.S. President Donald Trump said in an interview with the Wall Street Journal that the U.S. dollar "is getting too strong." Gold futures ended the U.S. day session with modest gains but shot to a high of $1,285.70 in after-hours trading, basis June Comex futures, after Trump's remarks to the press. June gold was last up $9.10 an ounce at $1,283.40.
